Who we are
Our website address is https://caseykeith.me. Casey Keith operates the site and decides how it uses your personal data.
To ask a question about this policy or about your data, email casey@caseykeith.me.
Information we collect
We collect the information that you give us and the information that your browser sends when you use the site.
- Accounts and purchases. When you create an account or buy a subscription, we collect the details that you enter at checkout. These include your name, email address, billing address, and order details.
- Custom GPT access. When you verify your email address in ChatGPT, we check it against our subscription records.
- Forms. When you submit a contact form or survey form, we collect the answers that you enter and the IP address that the form software logs.
- Booking and chat. The booking calendar comes from TidyCal, and the chat window comes from Bot9. Each service collects the details that you enter in it.
- Visit data. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Rybbit collect data about how visitors use the site. Visits by signed-in users are not counted in Google Analytics.
Comments
You need an account to comment. When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address, and the visitor’s browser user agent string. We use this data to help with spam detection.
We might send the Gravatar service an anonymized string (also called a hash) created from your email address, to check whether you use Gravatar. Read the Gravatar service privacy policy at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images that include embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download images from the website and extract any location data from them.
Cookies
This site and the services that it uses set cookies. The Cookie policy lists them and explains how to change your choices.
If you leave a comment on our site, you can opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies are for your convenience, so you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. They last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data. Your browser discards it when you close the browser.
When you log in, we set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, and screen options cookies last a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. If you log out of your account, we remove the login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, your browser saves an additional cookie. This cookie includes no personal data and indicates the post ID of the article you last edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site can include embedded content, such as videos, images, and articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited the other website.
These websites might collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content. This includes tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who do we share your data with
If you request a password reset, we include your IP address in the reset email.
We share data with the following services so that the site can work:
- Hostinger hosts the site and stores its data.
- Stripe and PayPal process payments for purchases.
- OpenAI provides ChatGPT, where you use the custom GPTs. OpenAI handles your use of ChatGPT under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Google provides Analytics, Tag Manager, reCAPTCHA, AdSense, Funding Choices, YouTube embeds, and Sign in with Google.
- CookieYes records your cookie choices.
- Rybbit provides visit statistics.
- TidyCal provides the booking calendar.
- Bot9 provides the chat window.
- Buy Me a Coffee provides the support button.
- bunny.net and jQuery CDN deliver images and files, and they receive your IP address when your browser requests a file.
We do not share your data with anyone else, except when the law requires it.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, we retain the comment and its metadata indefinitely. This lets us automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except that they cannot change their username. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
We keep order and subscription records for as long as we need them to provide the service and to meet tax, accounting, and legal duties. The site is set to delete inactive customer accounts after 12 months.
We keep form submissions for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation.
What rights do you have over your data?
If you have an account here or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. The file includes any data you have provided to us.
You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, or correct data that is wrong. This does not include any data we must keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
To make a request, email casey@caseykeith.me. We might ask you to confirm your identity first. Depending on where you live, local law might give you additional rights.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child gave us personal information, email casey@caseykeith.me and we delete it.
Where is your data sent
An automated spam detection service might check visitor comments. The services listed in this policy process data on servers in the United States and in other countries.
Changes to this policy
We can update this policy. When we do, we change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
