Accessibility statement

I want people to be able to use this site however they browse. This page states the standard I aim for, what the site does, where it falls short, and how to report a problem.

The standard I aim for

I aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This is a goal. I do not claim that the site conforms, and I have not had it audited by a third party.

What the site does

  • Reduce motion. A “Reduce motion” switch in the header and footer turns off animation and scrolling effects. The site also follows the reduced-motion setting of your operating system. The switch saves your choice in your browser.
  • Keyboard use. You can reach every link, button, and menu with the keyboard. A visible outline shows which item has focus. A “Skip to main content” link comes first.
  • Text alternatives. Images that carry meaning have a text alternative. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Contrast. I target a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 for body text. Large text and interface controls target at least 3 to 1.
  • Target size. Menu links in the header and footer, and the main buttons, are at least 44 pixels tall.
  • No autoplay. Audio and video do not start on their own.
  • Scripts off. The text and links on a page stay readable with scripts turned off.

Known limitations

  • Booking calendar. The calendar on the Book me page comes from TidyCal. I do not control its code, so it might not meet WCAG 2.2 AA. If you cannot use it, contact me to arrange a call another way.
  • Facebook. Links to Facebook, including the SEO Training Camp group, lead to a site I do not control.
  • Other third-party tools. A chat widget, the cookie banner, the Buy Me a Coffee button, spam protection on forms, and embedded videos come from other companies. They might have barriers I cannot fix.
  • Older posts. Some older posts might have images without useful text alternatives or headings that skip levels. I am fixing these as I update posts.

Report a problem

If you find a barrier, tell me. Use the contact page, the booking page, or email casey@caseykeith.me.

Include the page address, what went wrong, and the browser, device, and assistive technology you use, if any.
